THE GOVERNMENT has found an ally in the vehicle-tagging device scheme from transport groups which asked the Supreme Court (SC) yesterday to quash a petition by militant lawmakers to junk the project.
SEVERAL transport groups have expressed support for the implementation by the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) and the Land Transportation Office (LTO) of the controversial Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Project.
While transport groups were divided over the Land Transportation Office’s RFID (radio frequency identification) microchip program for vehicles, the Philippine National Police said Thursday it will need time to study the system. read more »
