Gabriela Women's Party Rep. Luz Ilagan along with Reps. Satur Ocampo (Bayan Muna) and Crispin Beltran (Anakpawis) speak before a forum organized by the Philippines-Canada Task Force on Human Rights in Montreal.

During the forum, the progressive solons, gave inputs on the human rights situation in the Philippines, particularly on the killings and abductions involving activists, leaders and members of partylist organizations, the continued implementation of the Arroyo government's coutner insurgency program or Oplan Bantay Laya and the political persecution of partylist solons.

The Philippines-Canada Task Force on Human Rights vowed support for the ongoing struggle against killings and repression. They will also be calling on the Canadian parliament to look into the human rights situation in the Philippines and link its foreign aid to the Philippines to support for human rights.
