Ocampo, Maza formalize their senatorial bids

MANILA, Philppiines - Partylist representatives Satur Ocampo of Bayan Muna and Liza Maza of Gabriela this morning filed their certificates of candidacy for senator at the Commission on Elections in Manila.

Along with their supporters and Bayan Muna Rep. Teddy Casino, Ocampo and Maza trooped to the Comelec main office in Intramuros and lodged their respective COCs.

Both Ocampo and Maza have bolted out of the Nacionalista Party of Sen. Manny Villar after the standard bearer sworn in Ilocos Norte Rep. Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr. as one of its senatorial candidates.

After filing their COCs, Bayan Muna and Gabriela supporters set up a makeshift stage in front of the Comelec building and held a short program.

During the program, Ocampo and Casino gamely danced with their supporters while the Bayan Muna campaign jingle was being played.The stage was installed near the Manila Cathedral.
