Makabayan to hold...

The Makabayang Koalisyon ng Mamamayan o MAKABAYAN will hold a city-wide and province wide general assembly and launching on November 4 in Cagayan de Oro City.

Makabayan is a coalition of national, sectoral and local organizations, individuals, and progressive partylist groups who believes that the interest of the Filipino people should be upheld and protected first and genuine love of country.

It is a coalition of people and groups whose representation in governance remains limited --- the farmers, workers, women and children, youth and the indigenous peoples, Kristin Lim, Makabayan spokersperson for Northern Mindanao said today.

Rep. Satur Ocampo of Bayan Muna and Liza Largoza-Maza of Gabriela Women Partylist will lead the list of personalities who will attend the assembly cum-launching for the city and provincial chapters, together with persons and groups from various sectors in Cagayan de Oro City and Misamis Oriental and progressive partylist groups Bayan Muna, Gabriela Women’s Party, Anakpawis, Kabataan Party, Katribu Partylist, Alliance of Concerned Teachers Partylist and COURAGE Partylist.

The assembly and launching will also highlight the achievements of Bayan Muna, Gabriela Women’s Party, Anakpawis and Kabataan Partylist, in policy making thru the passing and passage of bills increasing labor’s wages, violence against women and children, human rights, land reform, and other bills that banners the interest of the marginalized.
