Hamon sa Comelec: Bakla, tomboy sa Kamara pangalanan

MANILA – Hinamon nitong Martes ang isang opisyal sa Commission on Elections (Comelec) na pangalanan ang mga bakla at tomboy sa Kamara de Representantes.

Ang hamon ay ginawa ni Gabriela party-list Rep. Liza Maza kay Commissioner Nicodemus Ferrer kaugnay sa pahayag nito na hindi na kailangan ang party-list group para sa mga kasapi ng “third sex" dahil mayroon ng kumakatawan sa kanilang hanay sa Kamara.

Ang pahayag ay ginawa ni Ferrer matapos nitong panindigan ang desisyon ng Second Division ng Comelec na ibasura ang akreditasyon ng Ladlad party-list group na kakatawan sa mga tomboy, bakla, bisexual, at transgender (LGBT).

“Commissioner Ferrer should name names and substantiate his claim. But (it) that does not justify the denial of representation of gays and lesbians in Congress," hamon ni Maza.

Mistulang “naaliw" naman si Speaker Prospero Nograles sa pahayag ni Ferrer tungkol sa mga bakla at tomboy sa Kamara na hindi niya matukoy.

"That’s quite very interesting observation and kind of funny because as Speaker I have such a hard time figuring out who is what, and what is who? And why is who a what, or why is what a who?," ayon kay Nograles sa ipinadalang text message sa media.

Sa kabila nito, wala namang nakikitang problema si Nograles kung iakyat sa Korte Suprema ang usapin sa pagdiskuwalipika sa Ang Ladlad dahil ang pinakamataas na korte umano ang dapat maglinaw sa mga usaping legal.

“The Comelec is a constitutional office that determines for itself the who, the what, the how and the when as far as conduct and qualifications of candidates and accreditation of parties are concerned. Of course the legal remedy is to go to the Supreme Court (SC) when you feel aggrieved by decision of the Commission on Elections," idinagdag ng lider ng Kamara.

Duda naman si Nueva Ecija Rep. Edno Joson kung kakagatin ni Ferrer ang hamon ni Maza dahil tiyak umanong malalagay sa alanganing sitwasyon ang opisyal ng Comelec.

“No, he was just saying that there are gays and lesbians in Congress. Naming names will get him into trouble," aniya.

Sinuportahan naman ni Manila Rep. Bienvenido Abante, isang pastor, ang posisyon ng Comelec na ibasura ang Ladlad para sa party-list elections.

“Representation (of party-list group) should be marginal sectors not perverted lifestyle. What will they do in Congress? There is enough representation as far as human rights as persons but not their lifestyle," pahayag ng mambabatas. - GMANews.TV
