Gabriela lauds indie film 'Bahay Bata,' hopes Diana Zubiri's problem will be solved soon

MANILA, Philippines - A party-list organization fighting for the rights of women has lauded the indie film 'Bahay Bata' and hopes that the conflict between the movie's lead actress Diana Zubiri and the production team will finally be resolved so that the public can have the chance to watch the film and learn about poor women's lack of access to reproductive health services.

"This film has to see the light of day as it tackles a very relevant and hotly debated issue of reproductive health," said Gabriela party-list Rep. Emerciana de Jesus in a recent statement.

The lawmaker said that it was "unfortunate" that "Bahay Bata" had encountered problems.
