THE administration party Lakas-Kampi-CMD should just accept the possibility that Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos-Recto might leave the party and join her husband, former Sen.  Ralph Recto, who is reportedly running for the Senate again under the Nacionalista Party of Sen. Manny Villar.

Gabriela Reps. Liza Maza and Luzviminda “Luz” Ilagan also claimed that the administration party will suffer serious loss of its allies as the elections draw near.

“The bleeding of Lakas-Kampi-CMD is an indication that whoever is identified with PGMA (President Arroyo) is like a kiss of death.  I hope Gov.  Vi takes the side of Recto,” said Maza.

Ilagan said the choice of actor Edu Manzano as running mate of outgoing Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro  would not prevent her departure from the party.

“Because their ranks are getting less and less, it’s understandable mag-loyalty check talaga ang Lakas-Kampi-CMD.  Of course ang loyalty ni Vi ay kay Ralph.  Ex na nga si Edu.  Expect Vi to pledge loyalty and support for Ralph,” said Ilagan.

The Batangas governor has a son with Manzano, actor-host Lucky Manzano.

House Deputy Majority Leader and Aurora Rep.  Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara said he sees no problem with Gov.  Santos-Recto supporting her husband and ex-spouse.

“There is no conflict since she can support both since they are running for different positions anyway.  It’s but expected for her to support both,” said Angara.

For his part, Nueva Ecija Rep. Edno Joson said “in her (Gov.  Santos-Recto) heart, there will be no conflict – senator si Ralph at for VP naman si Edu, how LUCKY can one get.”

Amid questions about her political loyalties, Santos-Recto has been invited to attend a party mass oath-taking in Batangas today, according to Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita, the Lakas-Kampi-CMD national president.
