Now that the doctors have said that Gloria Arroyo is well enough to leave the hospital, Gabriela solon reiterated demands of the people to send the former President to a regular jail and resume the hearings on the electoral fraud case filed against her.

"People who were victimized by Arroyo's inglorious policies during her reign in Malacañang are clamoring for her conviction. She is accused not only of election fraud, but also of graft, corruption and human rights violations committed under her watch. A court conviction against Arroyo especially on human rights violations is a major step towards ending impunity,” said GWP Rep. Emmi De Jesus.

The Gabriela solon added that Arroyo has to be made accountable for 1,208 cases of extra-judicial killings, 206 enforced disappearances, and 1,099 tortures committed during her term.

“Every day that President Aquino’s administration delays GMA’s court trial, each day that he delays the delivery of justice to the victims, he becomes an accessory to the crimes that Gloria Arroyo perpetrated, and himself becomes a nurturer of the culture of impunity,” ended De Jesus.
