Senatorial candidate Liza Maza today said that although she appreciates being considered in the senatorial slate of the Nacionalista Party which is a major contending party in the 2010 national elections, she clarified that talks are still on-going with
the camp of Senator Villar.

“Makabayan has reached some unities with Senator Villar but snags were encountered when the NP allied with KBL,” Maza said.

“The issue of justice and indemnification of human rights victims including those under martial law and the issue of ill-gotten wealth should have a national resolution in order for us to learn from the past, heal its wounds and move forward as a nation,” Maza added.

Last November 24, Liza Maza and Satur Ocampo announced their decision to run for the Senate as independent candidates after NP announced its alliance with the Kilusang Bagong Lipunan. They have also filed their certificates of candidacy at the COMELEC last November 29.###
