GABRIELA Solon Insists on Immediate and Impartial Investigation Over Allegation of Rape of Minor by PSG Men

Following a consultation with relatives of ‘Rose’, the 15-year old minor who alleges being pimped by Manila City Barangay Captain Angelo Murillo and raped by PSG men inside the Malacaňang grounds, Rep. Emmi De Jesus of Gabriela Women’s Party filed a house resolution urging President Aquino to ensure the immediate and impartial investigation of the case to guarantee the accountability of the perpetrators.

“Pres. Aquino should not have waited for the clamor for an immediate investigation. An administration truly grounded on accountability should have done so immediately, as officials in authority are allegedly involved,” commented Rep. De Jesus.

RA8353 or the Anti-Rape Law considers rape done by the military or police personnel a heinous crime and imparts the highest possible penalty for those found guilty.

"This case, if left to fester by President Aquino, will be like a pus that indicates the infected wound of governmental malaise right within the presidential grounds,” added the Gabriela solon.

"I urge Aquino to show decisiveness on this case to ensure the right of ‘Rose’, the 15 year old victim, to reclaim her life with dignity,” ended De Jesus. ###
