HR 1124 - Investigate the apparent sexual commodification and violence against women in areas with Balikatan exercises

HR 1124 – A resolutiondirecting the House of Representatives Committees on Foreign Affairs, Defense,and Women and Gender Equality to conduct an investigation on the apparentsexual commodification and violence against women around the areas in LegazpiCity, Bicol, where the US-RP Balikatan exercises 2009 are being conducted, andrecommend measures including the review and possible cancellation of theVisiting Forces Agreement to protect the women from all forms of exploitationand violence and to address the social impact such military exercises create onthe lives of the people and their  communities
